Hear And Play appears to have an affiliate program where members can sell and promote their products to earn money online. The products appear to be tutorials on how to play instruments and particular genres of music. For example, there is a product that looks to teach people how to play the piano and a product to teach people how to play gospel music.
What is the affiliate program about at Hear And Play?
The affiliate program at HearAndPlay.com claims to have two ways for members to make money. One of the ways is said to be through referral fees where you are paid a commission of the sale off of people that you refer to the company’s website. The second way seems to be through what is known as a sub-referral fee where you recruit others to the affiliate program and earn a commission off of what they sell.
The affiliate program at Hear And Play appears to be divided into three affiliate levels that are based on how much you have generated in gross sales. The affiliate levels look to have different commission and sub-referral percentages associated with them.
For example, new members seem to start out at the Silver affiliate level where they earn 25% commissions and 10% sub-referral commissions. Reportedly, after you generate $1,000 in gross sales, it is said that you are moved into the Gold affiliate level where the commission is 35% and the sub-referral commission is 10%. Finally, it appears that after you generate $5,000 in gross sales, you appear to be upgraded to the Platinum affiliate level where the commission is 50% and the sub-referral commission is 5%.
It is stated that the affiliate program makes payments to members on a monthly basis. HearAndPlay.com claims that low traffic affiliates may earn around $150-$500 a month while high traffic affiliates may earn around $500-$3,000 a month.

Hear And Play reports that participation in their affiliate program is free. It is said that the company’s website takes care of the transaction information such as shipping addresses and credit card processing.
It seems that in order to participate that you will need to have an operating website where you can include the company’s banners that link to your unique affiliate identification number. It is said that you are able to locate their banners anywhere on the pages of your website and on as many pages of your website as you like. If you do not have a website but you have a profile page (i.e. blog) then it looks like you can still participate in the affiliate program.

I typically test an affiliate program before I invest a lot of man hours and marketing dollars into it. So around Christmas, I marketed this program to a friend who is a musician and they purchased through my affiliate link. They purchased around $300 worth of product. I show in my affiliate account that I should be paid $45 since the beginning of January 2011. However, it is now a week before June, 2011 and I have not yet received my payment. I have written Mr. Griggs and received only one response very early in February stating that he pays on affiliates at the end of the month following 45 days after purchase. So this would indicate that I should have been paid by at least the end of March. I have written Mr. Griggs several times now and have not yet received a response. I would tend to think this is a scam. Even in his affiliate program he does not explain how affiliates will receive payment. This is very odd and interesting to me because he thoroughly explains and outlines everything else.
