Michael Starr is the CEO of Global Domains International and Alan Ezeir is the President. In the 1990’s; country suffixes to web addresses were assigned by Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. Michael Starr and Alan Ezeir came up with the idea that the suffix assigned to the island country of Somoa, .ws could have the potential to make them money if they used it to mean “website”. They seemingly brokered a deal with the Samoan government and a percentage of the company’s proceeds goes to the island nation
